あれぇ、また雪降ってるよ…。

It's snowing, again...



予報では晴れるってなってたんだけどな。

According to the forecast, it would be a sunny day...

今日はほぼ何もしない。

So I didn't do much!

iPodのアプリの詰将棋をしたり？いつかはつボイ先生に将棋で勝たないとな。うん。

I was playing Japanese Chess "Shogi" on my iPod. I have to beat Prof. TsuBOI one day...



お昼過ぎに、ようやく雪が止んだ。

It stopped snowing in the afternoon.



陽が出ると、雪が溶けて行くのがわかる。

I could see the snow was melting as the sun shined.

夕方になり、フレッドの友達ガビーとケルンに夕飯を食べに。

In the evening, together with Gaby - the friend of Friedel - we went to Cologne.

ケルンの発祥はローマ時代に遡る。ここはガリア人やゲルマン人との戦いまた支配の拠点だったのだ。

The city of Cologne was originated in the reign of the Roman Empire. It was the main strategic point against Germanic people and later the centre of governance of Germanic regions.

ケルンという地名の語源はラテン語のコロニア・アグリッピナから。

The name of the city: Cologne = Köln came from "Colonia" in Latin.

ケルン(Köln)はフランス語や英語ではコロン(Cologne)といって、オーデコロン(eau de Cologne)のコロンでお馴染みなのだ。

The name is familiar with the words "eau de Cologne".

オーとはフランス語で「水」。デは「の」。だから「コロンの水」っていう意味なのだ。ローマ時代から貴婦人たちが香水を身につけていたのだろう。

"Eau" means "water"in French, "De" means "of" and Cologne. Romans were using eau de Cologne from the ancient time!

まぁ、そんな歴史のあるところになんと寿司を食べに行く！

We went to a Sushi bar! The Sushi bar in the ancient Roman city!

その名も「寿司王」！あ、「S」が切れていた…。うーん、店名が日本ぽくないぞ。

The name was "Sushiou" meaning Sushi King. Well, it does not sounds Japanese to me... Usually Koreans or Chinese use this kind of names for a "Japanese restaurant".



と、思ったら、板さんはちゃんと日本人でした。

But the chef was Japanese!



マグロやサーモンのネタはなかなか良く、しめ鯖も悪くない。

Tuna and Salmon were quite good. Pickled mackerel wasn't too bad either.



アサヒ・スーパードライを飲むフレッド。「日本のビールも悪くないね」、とお褒めに預かりました！

Friedel had a bottle of Japanese beer "Asahi Super Dry"!
He reckoned it wasn't bad at all!



ガビーもお寿司とアサヒを堪能！

Gaby also tasted "Asahi"!



出来ればもっとネタの種類があれば良いのだけれど、やはり外国ではなかなか仕入れが難しんのだよね。

It would have been better if there were more selections of fish n seafood. But I know it is really hard to get supplied with variety if fish n seafood in Sushi quality outside Japan.

なんだかんだでフレッド宅に来てから一週間が経ってしまった。

It's been a week since I came to Friedel's place.

週末には出発したいのだけれど、予報では雨なんだなぁ…。

I hope I can start riding south by this weekend... But according to the forecast, it will be raining...

ドイツでお寿司は去年ボンで食べて以来二回目ですね。日本人が握ってるので、それなりに美味しいですよ。
